Welcome to My Professional Portfolio!
About Me
I am a Sports Media student at Arkansas State University. My name is Brayden Parnell and I was born and raised in a small town called Keiser, Arkansas. Since a young age, I have been fascinated with two things: writing and sports. Writing is not a task for me. It’s a pastime. It’s something I want to do. I want to use this passion for these two subjects as a way to become a successful sportswriter or sports analyst. I feel I have the skills, knowledge, and drive to be successful behind the scenes with writing and producing, or right in front of the camera with sports analysis. I am well-spoken and a talented writer. I am comfortable on camera. I’ve spent years working on how to deliver my words well through my diction as well as my vocal delivery. Allow me to show you how I can keep fans entertained and intrigued with great writing and on-camera skills.

Works
With this visualization, I want to show MMA fans that Georges St. Pierre was versatile in finding victories. I feel like pie charts are one of the best charts to truly make data easy to visualize for most people. A pie chart was chosen here because I was dealing with percentages, and the similar sizes of the 3 sections of the pie show how balanced St. Pierre’s wins were. His knockouts and technical knockouts show that he was a great striker and reflect his karate and kickboxing background mostly, as well as some of his wrestling. The decision wins reflect his wrestling and also his ability to mix styles together with a variety of attacks, especially since those are drawn out fights where diversity of attacks is important. The submission wins reflect his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skills and his ability to set them up with his wrestling. The chart shows that Georges St. Pierre could win striking battles, submission battles, and long, drawn-out battles.

With this visualization, I want to show Facebook and social media users what some of the most common words associated with the problems of Facebook are so that they can have a grasp on the biggest issues and controversies surrounding the app they use so frequently.
